Teapot Mountain can be found near the old gold mining town of Jinguashi. The hike begins at the gold mining ecological park before climbing steeply up to Teapot Mountain. The beginning of the trail is relatively tame but as soon as we reach the ‘Teapot’ you’ll be climbing up fixed ropes, scrambling over boulders and pulling yourself through the teapot! From there it’s on to another peak, Banping Mountain (713m) for some spectacular views of the famous coastline.
The hike takes around 5-6 hours to complete and so we start this one in the morning.
We aim to be in Jinguashi by 9am to give us plenty of time to do the hike and then have time to explore either the old mine relics or head to the nearby town of Jiufen to relax in one of the many atmospheric tea houses there.
The hike involves around 5-6 hours of hiking. There is some exposure to heights and fixed ropes. A good level of fitness is required.
Private transportation is provided from anywhere in Taipei or the Taipei/Taoyuan Airport to the mountain. Pickups in other locations can be arranged, sometimes for a small extra fee. Vehicles are insured; Drivers are licensed; and traffic rules are obeyed.
All the main meals are provided for the hike. Clients only need to bring their own snacks. If you have any special dietary requests, allergies, or needs, let us know and we’ll be happy to accommodate you.
