Event Details

This will be our first family friendly hiking trip!  Hemei Mountain in Xindain is a relatively easy with with some great views of Bitan.

We’ll meet at Xindian MRT Station at 10am. (There’s a 7-11 there if you need any supplies.)

The hike will take us over the Bitan Suspension Bridge and up the stairs, past the remains of the old theme park to the peak of Hemei Mountain. There are nice views of the river from the top and it’s a good spot for a picnic. If everyone is up for it there’s a even better spot just a touch further down with some grass to run around on.

After lunch we’ll head down to the wooden walkway that leads to the Wantan Riverbank where we can catch a small boat back over to the Bitan side of the river. The boat is $20 for adults and $10 for kids.

The hike should take around 3-4 hours including rest stops and lunch. It’s relatively easy, but there are some steep sections of stairs, please make sure that you are OK with that. We’ll walk at a slow pace so everyone can enjoy the hike together.
