Event Details

The villages of Dali and Datong are situated high in the mountains above the mouth of the Liwu River which runs through Taroko Gorge. Both villages are cut off from roads and the electricity grid and the aboriginal people who live up there grow their own food and hike supplies in. There are several small B&Bs with campsites making it a great place to stay overnight.

This is a 2 day / 2 night trip taking place on Nov 6th-8th.

Do you think this is a hike kids could do? I’ve heard Taroko Gorge is fun for kids. We are not prepared for this particular excursion, but I would get the proper equipment for next time. We are new to the island, but I would love to get the kids out for weekend camping/hiking tips.

    Thank you

      Hi,

It’s quite doable for kids so long as they are OK with some steep stairs. It takes around 4-5 hours to get to the guesthouse. But the hike can be done as a day hike if you only go to Dali Village and return the same day.
